We'll pick you up at your hotel in Playa del Carmen at the designated time to set off to the heart of the Mexican jungle and begin this cultural adventure in a Mayan village. Make sure your body and soul are ready for a very special day!
Before we visit the village, we'll make a quick stop at a local store so you can buy coffee and snacks.
Our first activity will be a sacred Mayan ceremony, guided by a respectable shaman from the village. For approximately 1 hour, you'll attend an energy cleanse accompanied by prayers in the Mayan language, blessings with water, and lessons on ancestral natural medicine. Once we're finished, you can take home artisanal remedies made with local plants.
After this powerful introduction, we'll go on a 20-minute hike through the jungle. This direct contact with nature will allow you to feel the soil under your feet and listen to the whispers of the jungle as you walk among trees and ancient sounds. It'll be the perfect moment to breathe in deeply and leave your stress behind!
Then, we'll hop on bicycles and cycle for 1.5 hours along the charming streets of the town of Xcan. With our Mayan hosts, you'll discover the authentic corners, like its historical church or the local cemetery. This tour is perfect to learn about the daily life of the Mayans of today and discover the warmth of their people.
Our adventure will continue in a dry cenote, where you'll explore for approximately 50 minutes its fascinating geological formations. Through the stories they tell us, you'll understand why these sites are considered sacred. You'll be amazed!
Afterward, for those who are more adventurous, it'll be time for the most exciting moment: a 59-foot descent (18 meters) with a harness to a cenote with crystal-clear waters. For 1 hour, you'll be captivated by its natural beauty and have the chance to take a dip in its deep waters. Are you up for it?
The day trip wouldn't be complete without enjoying the local cuisine. We'll be welcomed in a family home or in a community center with a pool, where we'll share a typical Yucatecan lunch prepared with love. This 1.5-hour experience is perfect to discuss and understand life in the village even more.
Finally, we'll witness a colorful demonstration of the Jarana traditional dance. For 1 hour, you'll see the local artists dress up in their traditional clothing and dance to the rhythm of the folkloric music. If you're up for it, you can join them!
After diving into the Mayan world, we'll return to Playa del Carmen and say our goodbyes at your hotel 11 hours after pickup.
