At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Humito Cocina y Foro 8 Temblor restaurant, located in Faldas del Fortín, north-west of Oaxaca city centre. To welcome you, we'll begin by immersing ourselves in the world of mezcal, one of Mexico’s most iconic drinks and a true expression of Oaxacan tradition. Did you know that this drink has been produced using traditional methods for centuries?
Next, we'll take part in a guided tasting of five mezcals from two renowned mezcal houses: Mezcal Cuish and Mezcal Hacienda Chontal. We'll sample 0.5 ounces of each mezcal and learn to identify their sensory notes, distinguishing aromas, textures and nuances on the palate.
To accompany the tasting, we'll share a pairing of a traditional Oaxacan snack selected from the restaurant's seasonal menu. It’ll whet your appetite!
If singer Lila Downs’ schedule allows, we'll also have the chance to meet her and chat with her about her career and projects, making the experience even more special.
What’s more, at the end of the activity, you’ll be able to purchase original products and mezcal bottled directly by the producers. A perfect souvenir of this immersion in the culture of Oaxaca!
