Yécora Forest 2-Day Excursion
Day 1: Hermosillo - Yécora
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Hermosillo and head to Yécora, a Sonoran town nestled in the middle of the Sierra Madre Oriental. The trip by minibus will take us almost five hours.
Upon arrival, we'll leave our luggage at the hotel and enjoy a delicious lunch. Afterward, we'll head to Rancho La Cueva, where we'll go on a short 3-kilometer hike to the top of a huge rocky outcrop. The views from the top will leave you speechless!
During the tour, we'll also take a 40-minute horseback ride to explore the dense coniferous forests that were once home to the Tarahumara Indigenous Peoples. We'll crown the day with a delicious dinner featuring different types of grilled meat.
Day 2: Yécora - Hermosillo
We'll welcome the new day with breakfast at the hotel and then go to the outskirts of town to check out a curious forked tree in the shape of a 'Y'. Then we'll visit the center of Yécora to admire its main square, the emblematic colorful letters, the Church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe and other places of interest.
Afterward, we'll enjoy a picnic lunch and head to Mesa del Campanero, a town where we'll visit a local vegetable garden to learn about the most typical products of the area. Finally, we'll visit the Mirador El Bordo viewpoint to see the extent of the green pine forests.
Finally, we'll make our way back to Hermosillo, where arrival at your hotel is scheduled for 8 pm.
